Ventura’s newest coach has 57 seats, zero tailpipe emissions and an important role to play in the company’s future.
The fully electric Yutong C12E is Ventura’s first electric charter coach, bringing a quieter way to travel to school runs and group journeys. Its arrival takes Ventura’s work in electric transport into another part of the business and closer to more passengers.
Gary Dunne, Ventura’s Executive General Manager – Charter, said seeing the coach join the fleet was a proud moment for the team and one that assists us in delivering a better experience for our customers.
“Whether we’re taking students to school or a charter group out for the day, we have an opportunity to rethink how we deliver that experience. This coach is a step change, and we’re very excited for our passengers to experience it.”
Behind its arrival is the work of Ventura’s mechanics and drivers, who have been learning the skills needed to support electric travel. Mechanics completed specialist high-voltage training, while drivers trained in charging, pre-departure checks, vehicle operation and emergency procedures.
“Our team have worked meticulously to understand the technology and changes required to operate the new buses safely. They underpin what makes this possible.” Mr Dunne said
The coach builds on Ventura’s experience at Ivanhoe, home to Victoria’s first fully electric bus depot. Across the business, five changeover cars have also been replaced with fully electric vehicles, with more being transitioned. Those first five cars are estimated to save approximately 9,500 litres of fuel each year. An electric forklift has also joined Ventura’s operations.
Together, these changes reflect a practical approach to more sustainable travel: learning from each investment and finding more places where electric vehicles can make a difference.
“Whilst this is our first fully electric charter coach, it won’t be our last.
“More are on the way, and we’re looking forward to differentiating ourselves from our competitors with a modern fleet and unparalleled experience. This will be a new experience for customers, and we are thrilled to be part of the Charter evolution support our customers current and future need,” Dunne said.
