NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while recognising the importance of listening, learning and building meaningful relationships.
At Ventura, this year’s celebrations brought our people together through a range of activities that encouraged reflection, connection and cultural understanding. Employees participated in a NAIDOC Toolbox Talk, attended Flag Raising and Smoking Ceremonies at Willum Warrain in Hastings and the Bunurong Land Council in Frankston, joined the Community Lunch hosted by the Dandenong & District Aboriginal Co-operative, and took part in a NAIDOC colouring competition with their families.

These activities are about more than recognising a single week on the calendar. They form part of Ventura’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation and our vision of creating a workplace where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives are understood, respected and celebrated every day.
A significant milestone in this journey has been the endorsement of Ventura’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), providing a clear framework to strengthen relationships, deepen respect and create meaningful opportunities with First Nations peoples. Guided by our RAP Working Group and in partnership with Aboriginal communities, we are embedding reconciliation into the way we operate through cultural awareness, community engagement, employment pathways, procurement and governance.
While our Reflect RAP marks an important milestone, we recognise that reconciliation is a continuous journey, not a destination. Every conversation, community partnership and cultural learning opportunity helps us build stronger connections with the communities we proudly serve and reinforces our commitment to creating a more inclusive future.
