Last week, Ventura proudly recognised IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia), creating opportunities across our workplaces to raise awareness, encourage meaningful conversations and celebrate the importance of inclusion and respect.
As a business that serves diverse communities across Victoria, we believe creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace is essential to supporting our employees, customers and the communities we connect every day.
What is IDAHOBIT?
IDAHOBIT is a global day of awareness observed annually on 17 May. It highlights the importance of standing against discrimination and promoting equality for LGBTQIA+ people in workplaces, schools, communities and organisations around the world.
The day serves as a reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and valued, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation or background.
Creating a Workplace Where Everyone Belongs
At Ventura, building an inclusive culture starts with everyday actions. It’s about fostering an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves, where differences are respected and where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and thrive.
Recognising days such as IDAHOBIT helps create awareness, encourages learning and opens the door to meaningful conversations that strengthen understanding and connection across our workforce.
Inclusion is Part of Our Journey
Creating a welcoming workplace is an ongoing commitment. Through awareness initiatives, employee engagement activities and a focus on respect and belonging, Ventura continues to build a culture where all employees feel supported and empowered.
We know that diverse perspectives make us stronger, and that a workplace built on inclusion benefits not only our employees but also the customers and communities we serve every day.
Everybody is Welcome on Board
As we continue our journey, we remain committed to fostering a workplace where people feel safe, valued and respected.
At Ventura, everybody is welcome on board.
